I can't believe I'm actually excited to finally have the colder/ wetter weather i must be going mad! I think we've had quite a few hot and humid few months and to be perfectly honest I'm sick of it!
So yay for the cups of hot chocolate with marshmallows, curling up by a warm log fire and stuffing our faces on some yummy wintery stews & soups!
Ive got my slow cooker at the ready and have been pinning all sorts of scrummy recipes for over the winter as well as some indulgent treats to nibble on through the early evenings.
Ive had a total revamp of my wardrobe, vac packing all of my summer clothing, switching over my shoes from sandals to boots!
Ive even had a good clear out of my makeup pulling out the rose blushes, full coverage foundation as my skin hates the cold! Im even going to try and get back into wearing a plum lipstick for winter!
Theres a few things i still need to stock up on-
Candles- I love burning candles all through the year but this time of year is just the best because the days get shorter and we spend more time in at home. I need to get myself some autumnal / christmasy smelling candles for the house any recommendations would be grateful for!
Hot Chocolate- Who doesn't love a hot choc in front of a burning fire?! I currently only have the Tassimo cadburys pods which only give you half a cup! I love to pop into to Whittard http://www.whittard.co.uk for some delicious hot chocolates, they do a luxury white chocolate hot drink which i have brought time and time again! I definitely need to try a few more though.
Fluffy socks & fleecy pjs! Oh yes how could i forgot the staples of winter! I can't live without a couple of new pairs of fluffy socks and some really cosy fleecy pjs, i usually pop into Primark as they have such a good variety and of corse bargain prices.
Hand cream & Lip Balm- my hands can't stand the winter they usually go all dry and scaly without a decent hand cream I'm currently eyeing up one from The Body Shop as i love there hand creams so affordable and always do the job well. As for my lips ill be pulling out my NUXE reve de Miel lip balm total staple for me every winter, super rich and creamy a great barrier against the cold air.
Umbrella- Yes i need to get myself a new small umbrella, i only have a giant one in the back of my car , as well as two kiddy brollies! Being in England theres always a chance of rain whatever time of year! I really like the look of this one from joules- http://www.joules.com/Women/Umbrellas/Brolly/Womens-Printed-Umbrella/Green-Landing-Ducks?id=R_BROLLY|DUCKS
I love the green with the cute ducks it looks sturdy to so hopefully won't blow away in the wind!
Wellibobs- Last thing on my list has to be a new pair of wellibobs from Joules, my pair from last year are ok, definitely well worn but id quite like a new pair! They are just perfect for me to sling on during the school run if its a wet day and of corse they look cute to! Just a quick tip i find Joules wellies come up big so i always go down a size! http://www.joules.com/Women/Wellies/Wellibob/Womens-Ankle-Welly/Navy-Stripe?id=R_WELLIBOB|NAVSTRP
