Well i do love apple crumble so thought i would share a simple and delicious recipe on how i make it!
Me and the children picked the Bramley apples from one of our apple trees, they definitely couldn't wait to try what they had picked!
Apple filling-
3-4 large apples
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp lemon
1 tbsp vanilla
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Topping-
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/3 cup unsalted butter, diced into small chunks
Oven preheated 150c
Start off by peeling and slicing your apples.
Than pop them into a bowl with all of the filling ingredients and give them a really good mix so everything is combined and set aside.
Now onto the topping again pop all ingredients into a mixer or blender or even if you fancy bashing it by hand with a wooden spoon! Give it a good mix until the mixture looks like a sandy breadcrumb type texture, try not to over mix.
once you have both components its time to layer them into a oven proof dish.
Pop in a preheated oven at 150c for around 50mins to an hour.
Serve with cream or custard!
Let me know if you give this ago!
