Violet and Peppa Go To School | Personalised Children's Book by Penwizard & Giveaway!

Hey everyone as you may be aware Violet will be starting school very soon, too soon for me to be honest it will definitely be hard to let my 'baby' grow up and head to big school. However she is really looking forward to it and making new friends and especially learning.. she is so ready to crack on and learn!

I recently got a lovely email from Penwizard, a company who personalise books. By personalise i mean they add in your childs name or and specific name you would like to the book which gives it that extra special touch when reading it to your loved one.

Violet received a lovely book called 'Violet and Peppa Go To School'. As you can imagine Violet was amazed that her name was in the story as i read it to her. Even the little picture resembled Violet with her blonde hair and green eyes!

Violet is naturally quite a quiet and shy kind of girl and does sometimes find it hard to tell me how she's feeling especially if she's unsure of something. We have had such a good time reading through this book and talking to each other about when she's going to start school, what she'll be doing and who she'll meet. It has seriously helped with Violet expressing herself on how she's feeling about the big day.

The book itself also comes in a few Disney characters such as Frozen and Starwars as well as Peppa pig. I love the stories you can pick there are quite a few to choose from here.
The quality of the books is exceptional and i loved that it came wrapped beautifully and in a box so it didn't get bent.

You can personalise the books yourself online, choosing the right hair and eye colour of your choice. As well as adding an extra special message on the book.

Im a very impressed with not only the quality but the outcome of something so simple as reading a book to Violet to help prepare her for school it has truly helped and it will definitely be a keepsake that she'll always have!

Back To School Shoes | KICKERS

My two only have a few short weeks left till they head off back to school. Its Violets first year starting at big school.. she is rather excited although I'm definitely a little sad to lose my home buddy for sure.

When it comes to choosing the right shoes for your children for school its important to get the right fit and comfort since they will be spending an awful lot of time wearing them. Violet was actually only saying the other day about buying some new slippers for school, and of course i had to correct her since she's so used to wearing slippers at nursery and feeling the comfort when being there i had to tell her the disappointment of having to wearing shoes all day at school.

Having said that it isn't all that bad if you've brought the correct comfortable shoes for the children to wear. Although the children haven't exactly ' worn' the shoes in yet we received some gorgeous Kickers to review. My first impression was.. WOW don't they look comfy and padded.

I chose Alister the Classic Kick low strap shoes, velcro is the way forward for him nice and easy for PE and swimming whipping them on and off and i loved the grip style sole also much needed for when running around a playground. The quality of the black leather is super soft and padded especially round the heel for extra comfort. Alister has wide and a slight instep and these fit like a glove. He can tighten or loosen the velco along the top of the foot. He seems really happy with them.

For Violet starting school i was considering buying velcro however she insisted on the Classic Kick Tbar Patent. These are absolutely gorgeous and i remember having patent shoes as a child myself. Theres something so girly and classic looking about little girls in patent shoes.
They are a buckle but she is more than capable of buckle shoes. Again these seem really comfortable and i love padding on the inner of the shoe as well as around the heel.

The Tbar style is  a great fit for Violets wide feet she has plenty of room along the front and the width is perfect. The shoes also come with Microfresh technology to ensure shoes are odour free for longer! I love the stitching along the top of the shoe and also again these have a great thick sole with

As you can see Violet is raring to get into school constantly trying on her uniform!
Will give you a little update on how they get on with their new school shoes when they start in a couple of weeks!

Countryfile Live | Aug 16

Hey everyone last week we had the chance to visit Countryfile Live  for the first time.
I was very excited however i think Graham definitely was much more excited than me since being a farmer theres lots of things there he can relate to as well as drool over the machinery!

Countryfile Live is set on the grounds near Blenheim Palace.

We set of nice an early Sunday morning, this was actually the last day, the show started on the Thursday. Eagerly trying not to hit any traffic since we heard there was lots the previous days, however it wasn't too bad really, the parking we signed really well and the attendants led us to the specific parking bays which were situated on a huge field. It was about a 5-10 min walk to the actual show so remember to bring pushchairs and carriers for the little ones as there is generally a lot of walking once there also.

No queues to get in, showed our tickets and in we enter. There was a huge tractor and Countryfile poster pinned to some straw bales. It was rather busy a lot of people wanted to get a drink at the bar to start their day!

Stalls and stalls of different handmade items, gifts and named brands such as Blacks, Joules, Barbour.
Again you could take your pick on what you wanted to eat all yummy local british foods. We stopped off at Salcombe Devon Ice Creams to cool us down.

We enjoyed venturing round all the stalls, miles and miles to be honest of things to see and do.
The kids really enjoyed the different tents to go in, the bee keeper was one of there favourites, it was really interesting to see the Honey bees in their Hive.

The Wild life zone wads great the kids cut out swan hats and coloured in pictures. they also loved the insect area. Alister couldn't get enough of looking at the different skulls. We all loved holding the tiny little chicks, that wads definitely a highlight of my day!

I had a great time trying lots of different local ciders i really needed it since the weather was amazing and hot. A could of things we didn't get round to doing which we would like to next time was the fishing and maybe the canoeing.

There were interesting demonstrations going on by Miele and we enjoyed the Q&A with Ellie Harrison and John Craven.

The last bits we ended up doing which the kids enjoyed was the fun fair ride of course and Graham loved walking round all the different Tractors old and new. Some of them you could actually sit in. The kids enjoyed that.

All in all the day was brilliant, hours and hours of things to do, we honestly didn't have enough time to get round the whole place. Next year we might consider camping and going for two days. there is a camping ground right next to the show and is available to book through the Countryfile website.

Now heres a ton of pictures me and Graham took while we were there.
